BUY LOCAL!…..PointBank supports Denton’s Retail Cry

Ray David, Jr. is a longtime advocate and supporter of local communities, customers and businesses. As President of Denton County’s own PointBank, he sees daily the economic wealth generated for Denton County when community members shop with local merchants. He wondered how PointBank might play a significant role in stimulating the local economy and developing deeper relationships between bank customers and independent merchants. He found his answer in a revolutionary rewards program called BuzzPointBanking.

This new rewards program will give PointBank customers reward points when they use their debit cards to make everyday purchases PLUS it provides even greater rewards for shopping at participating local retail merchants. This helps keep shopping dollars in the community.

“BuzzPointBanking is unlike any rewards program in the country today” said Ray David, “It actually makes every dollar work harder for the person who earned it, and the person who receives it via local purchase.   It truly supports a healthy economy’s need to keep money in the community.”

Just as Ray David is responding to the community call, so too are Denton County residents. They are realizing that “keeping money local” is not just a social marketing campaign but a proven way for each individual to positively impact our local economy.

PointBank Supports Flower Mound Virtual Food Drive!

Terri Owens, Personal Banker, PointBank is a member of the Flower Mound Leadership Class 2011 and encourages you to make a donation to stop hunger in North Texas through a fun, family friendly site.   ”It’s so easy to support – anyone and everyone can do it” said Owens.

The website is a virtual “grocery store” where you can choose the food you’d like to contribute to the North Texas Food Bank.  After you’re done shopping, you’ll be able to make payment online, and will receive a tax-deductible receipt in reply.  Visit the website with your children, and have them help pick items out.  Set a budget and work on math skills, too!  It’s a great way to give back this holiday season!

“PointBank encourages each employee to be involved in our community and give back. This is one of the ways I like to support Flower Mound,” Owens said.

4 Ways to Help End Hunger:

• Give your voice… become an advocate for a hunger-free world

• Give your time… volunteer in our warehouse or at a Member Agency

• Give a pound… host a traditional or Virtual Food Drive

• Give a dollar… $1 provides 3 meals

Flowermoundfamily.com Banking/Lending Expert – Ray David, Jr,

Ray David, Jr. President of local community bank PointBank was named Banking Expert and Lending Expert by Flowermoundfamily.com.  He serves to answer questions sent in by consumers regarding lending and banking.

Q: Is it true that banks aren’t lending money due to this economy?

 A.  Every time we enter into an economic climate such as we are in now, government does create more strict guidelines for how a borrower can qualify, and for the bank lending limits. However, banks are still very interested in lending money. A big problem is that this economy has driven down consumer confidence about being able to pay a loan back.  This, more than anything, affects how many loans are being written right now.  Actually, the lower demand right now can make banks more flush and they may even offer better terms if you qualify.  There is no better time than now to visit with your personal banker about a loan.

PointBank Offers Equipment Loans

PointBank offers equipment loans designed especially to work for a doctor’s practice.  In 2011 doctors can take advantage of Section 179 of the IRS Code which allows businesses to deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment and /or software purchased or financed during the tax year. That means that if you buy (or lease) a piece of qualifying equipment, you can deduct the FULL PURCHASE PRICE from your gross income.  This information came from www.section179.org and you should consult your tax advisor about this.  With this historic 100% depreciation benefit, now is a great time to finance equipment with PointBank.
